From February to December 2017 SmP will accompany the research project “Horse work renewed” about the use of modern horse drawn implements, as a part of a master thesis at the OLiB e.V.
Beside of draft force and load measurements on different workhorse breeds, also modern implements from Equi Idea for tillage and cultivation of vegetable crops will be adapted to the local operating conditions. Furthermore, the practical suitability of the SmP prototype Stree-Won 1.1 for spreading compost as well as of the disc harrow combination SmP Kombi-Roll 1.2 will be examined.
The Heidehof Foundation will finance the project and the results will be presented in a public event in January 2018.
After a preliminary discussion on-site on 10 April 2017, the first test day about primary tillage took place on 21 April 2017.
